Texas Hill Country Ranch Comes With Skeet Shooting and a Private Bridge Over the San Gabriel River
Shares the stories you may have missed from the world of luxury real estate
A 137-acre Texas Hill Country ranch that’s crisscrossed by the San Gabriel River and loaded with outdoorsy amenities hit the market last week for $6.499 million.
The Long Road Ranch, which aptly boasts a mile-long winding driveway, is on the outskirts of Georgetown in Williamson County and a roughly 45-minute drive northeast of Austin. The property has a 100-foot elevation change—a boon in the notoriously flat Lone Star State—and lays claim to what is believed to be the only private bridge across the San Gabriel River.

The vast property “caters to equestrian and recreational ranch enthusiasts, while also holding great potential as an event venue,” said listing agent Garrett Ruple owner of Ruple Properties at Compass, who has the listing with Jason Ruple. “It offers a compelling choice for those seeking a blend of opulence, seclusion and convenience, all within easy reach of urban amenities.”
The main home on the ranch is a single-story, 2,930-square-foot home built in 2008. At its center is an open-concept kitchen. Plus there are high ceilings, three bedrooms, plenty of outdoor entertaining areas and an infinity pool, which has impressive views, particularly at sunrise, due to its higher elevation, Ruple said.
Elsewhere on the property is a brand-new steel barn; four ponds, including one stocked with catfish and another with bass and bluegill; a barbecue area on the river’s edge; and equestrian facilities including paddocks, stables, a horse walker and a tack room.
Plus there’s a full trap and skeet shooting range located at the bottom of the ranch, which includes skeet towers, multiple covered spaces and a built-in wood grill.
“The presence of the San Gabriel River, combined with the exceptional horse facilities and the trap and skeet range, creates an idyllic haven for sports enthusiasts,” Ruple said. He called it an “exceedingly rare find.”
It’s not clear when the owners—listed in property records as a trust—acquired the ranch or for how much, as sale prices are not disclosed publicly in Texas.
“The seller has enjoyed this property as an equestrian retreat,” Ruple said. “They have created fond memories both raising horses and enjoying the recreational aspect of the property over the years.”
